Rosneft says sure about finding large deposits in Black Sea later
MOSCOW, Mar 21 (PRIME) – Results of joint drilling by Rosneft and Eni of the Black Sea well Maria-1 indicate a discovery of large oil deposits in the Black Sea, Rosneft said in a statement on Wednesday.
Reuters reported that Rosneft and Eni have not found commercial oil reserves after drilling a well in the Western part of the Black Sea. The resource base of the block was expected at about 600 million tonnes of oil and 100 billion cubic meters of gas.
Rosneft said, “A unique calciferous 300-meter strong structure representing a fractured reservoir, which contains hydrocarbons with a high probability was discovered as a result of the works. The results instill confidence in the discovery of large oil and gas deposits in the Russian part of the Black Sea.”
